thekangaroomom

Welcome to my blog!

The original idea to write a book about my NICU experience was so sweet, but now that I have the baby at home and I don't have the NICU nurses (or my "angels" as I like to refer to them) taking care of Jonathan, I've decided that this blog will have to do.

For those of you who do not know, I was pregnant with my 3rd child. He was due on April 15, 2011, but unbeknownst to me or the doctor, Jonathan came early on February 3, 2011 at 29 weeks and 6 days, weighing 3 lbs and 5 oz. That day is something I could dedicate a whole blog to, really...

The induction ceremony into the NICU is like being inducted into a gang. But once you are there the men and women who work with the preemies are like a family to you. How is it that I am associating a gang with the NICU angels? Well, it's the contrast I guess. It is the most terrible and the most noble - together - like the ying yang. Anyways, I hope that you will follow me as I tell my story of the NICU, which some of you have already heard, but never in this much detail.

One last thing, I want to thank everyone for their prayers and support. If you decide to follow this blog, then I am sure that you were also one of the loyal prayer warriors that supported and ministered to me during this difficult time. We love you and pray that God will bless you always.

John 15:13
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

  1. Yay! I'm your first follower! So glad you joined the blog world!

Your sweet baby is one prayed-over little guy!
I'd say Jeremiah 29:11 is a very fitting verse for him. :)

    Love you all!

Thanks for the shout-out about the picture. :)

What a great initiative. I am sure I will not only follow but will share with my daughter who hopes to one day be a neo-natal care nurse.
Hugs and kisses to the little angel!
